the final layout

I really like the way that the final images and lay out has turned out after all of the stress, I think we have pulled it off, if I were to do it again there would be a few changes I would want to add in more creative things that I originally thought of but didn't get the chance to actually do it. 

the picking and editing of photos

choosing the photo's and editing the best was taking a while as we couldn't decided, when we finally did get it all sorted most of the day was already gone so Sophie started to do the layout as I am not the best person to do it, but she has done an amazing job at it I helped and suggested things to add into it, we got about 3 of the layouts done and it was 2am so we decided to go home and get up early and do the rest in the morning so me and sophie was up and in the library for 9 and the other half didn't turn up till 10:30 but we agreed to be there early so myself and sophie got the rest of the layout done, and Claire was meant to bring in doodles for the layout but only bought in one for the rock layout and it wasn't much. So me and sophie went back to the flat and started doodling for the rest, we finally did it the lay out was done and it looks amazing :)

the proper shoot!

So it has come to the proper shoot and I am rushing around like an idiot getting the model dressed then styled then the hair and make up and then actually shooting, so the first shoot was my part of the arty image the tumblr I sorted everything and once my shoot was over all the girls looked to me to do all of there make up, hair styles, and styling so I was even more stressed and the model was uncomfortable so I had to step in and make her feel better showing her different poses and just trying to get her to relax the way she did in my shoot, after hours of shooting and being out of energy it was time to go home and sleep.

There was a bit of a hiccup in this shoot as when we got there I did the hair and make up to the model and when we came to shoot the trigger cable I had bought a few days before was faulty so we couldn't really do much as one of the group wouldn't go back to the her place to get her wireless trigger, so it was a go back home and do the shoot the next day if she could find the wireless trigger.

group meeting again

So we met up again but the rest haven't found models, I told them that I had one male and one female but as soon as I said male one of the girls jumped down my throat and said we are not having a male model, to me that was not good since I was the only one who actual got models to work with.

Finally found someone to model for me a male and female! 

Gossip Girl

So I completely forgot about Gossip Girl I love the fact that this program is about school but at the same time that there is someone watching there every move ready to blog or email people about it which is a brilliant idea but most of the time gets these people into trouble. we see different styles of fashion in this program which kind of makes sense as it is based in NY and how much these wealthy kids get themselves into trouble. but like I said the fashion is amazing so many different outfits  for each of the characters the clothing just seems to make the character.

group meeting

So we had another group meeting about trying to get model's or to move the shoot to a different weekend, that was going to be impossible as most of the group are going home the following weekend or going away for easter. so after the meeting the goal was for each of us to yet again look for models.

looking for models isn't going to well yet again... I'm hoping so badly that everything will turn out all right we have everything ready but the model/s

Elephant

In our tutorial we watched the film elephant where we see troubled teenagers take over the school and massacre most of the school, apparently it was based on a true story, I find the way that they have filmed the film really interesting seeing it happen to different people at different time but at the same time (yeah confusing). 

ahhhhh stressed

So we want this shoot sorted soon as but we have an issue of not having any models what so ever out of the 4 of us we can't find anybody, we as a group are not communicating and when I do try and sort out meetings only half of the group turns up. 

the test shoot

this is just us trying to figure out what lighting and backgrounds to go with I said that we would get the best looks from the coloured back grounds just like they have in school photographs but also have the different colours to represent different social networking industry's, like my space, facebook, twitter, tumblr, and you tube, I think when we finally found the lighting we wanted it was all right we got some good shots are trying to figure out what poses to use so when we did the actual shoot we would know where to start.  

school girl look

we have seen that the school girl look is used a lot in music videos like Britney Spears and Girls aloud they tend to stylelize this look to make it more into fashion.

the stereotypes

The chavs the typical look of tracksuit with trainers and a hat.

Then we have the stereotype of emo the black and bright colours hair over there faces lip rings and are over the top with feelings apparently suicidal. 

the hooded gang, hoods and scarf's to hide there identity we look at them as thugs as some people find it threatening the clothes that they wear.

then the geeks who are out of place love games and being intelligent

the popular girls everybody wanting to be just like them style wise they are always into the new fashion have the best out of everything.

waterloo road

Waterloo Road is yet another UK based school drama involved round both student and teachers coming over the difficulty of everyday life but they never seem to catch a break, I find that the dress code in some ways the same but now we see jumpers and not blazers girls wearing more and more makeup wanting to grow up way to fast.

grange hill

Grange hill is one of the UKs based tv program that started in 1978 till 2008 I did't think it actually lasted this long because when I was younger it wasn't something I enjoyed but we have the original class image and one of the 2008 class, between the both of the you can tell the early class is deffently more formal in this image the classic white shirt tie black trousers and blazers, and the teachers are dressed more formal. where as in the second image there isn't as many kids they are a bit more sloppy with appearance even the tutors are more casual clothes. 

glee

the new hype is the American TV series Glee that we see the underdogs or (loosers) in peoples eyes that go through the bullying the ups and downs of being a young adult I find this program really does stereotype everybody, from jocks, cheerleaders, popular,geeks, and bullies. I think in a school network that the way that they have styled the characters are well thought out and most from different backgrounds.

after school

Afterschool is a South Korea band I found who also use the whole school girl look to promote them self's it seems to be a popular look using different stereotypes to get a look, I really like the idea of the whole band geek theme is really aesthetically pleasing, I really like that it is high fashion.  

over the top dressed chav

so once again the chav fashion isn't to great taking a high fashion brand Burberry and making it a sham  I really don't think in a fashion statement both tops and bottoms to be the same isn't a great look but for  some reason the chavs seem to like this brand.

Chav it up!

the chav stereotype we see the Vicky Pollard character in the little Britain tv season who bring the stereotype at large being a asbo, drinking, smoking and having kids when they are only teenagers, the clothing is not the most attractive sweats trainers, hoodies and baseball caps.

we also see the typical school girl look in the game the sims.

Japanese culture

Looking at the Japanese over the top with some of there clothes I found this image not to sure who it is by but I really like the simplistic clothes but with a twist of the background being bright and over the top, the composition of the models is really attractive which make the clothes pop.

the goonies

I know that the goonies arent really based on school but I think it is based on education, having kids from different back grounds working together as one.

Carlo Britt

found these images by Carlo Britt who also stydies photography in univeristy he went for the sterotypes clashing together. the lighting looks natural or flash from camera, i like the minimal props in the image that he didnt use an actual school to bring the image together.

cheerleaders

popular cheerleaders, they are the ones who cheer for the school but in many films and tv programs they are known to be back stabbers and quite bitchy. they are to be shown as strong popular young women.
I like the compersition of the image and the lighting is pleasing to the eye as it harsh in some places and not in others.

school jock picking on geek!

So I started looking at school sterotypes and must be going wrong somewhere as I cant find to much on the internet but I'm going to keep going, but I found this image of a jock picking on a geek. not the most brilliant of images but its a start.

David hill

found this photograph by David Hill yet another geek image and other sterotypes giving horrible looks to the very unpopular student i really like the idea of using the HDR as it gives it such a polished effect.

I found this image online and thought it was really humours as it is the geek with the popular girls around him teasing him. I think the reason why the image pops out more is because of the geek and his massive glasses.

saint trinians

So I'm keeping to looking at film that involve school settings so saint trinians was one of them making it cool to wear school uniforms having your own qwerty having your own super ego to save the school. I really like the way that the stylist on this set have dress the girls in an old fashion style but its edgie bring this style back into fashion.

the breakfast club

I really enjoy this film it funny and inspirational the storyline is really creative as the kids are from different clicks, having to share a detention, I think this film is relevant to the Education brief as it shows the way that as people we need to learn that just because we are not in the same clicks there is different ways of learning not just education but about life.

education inspired films

I have been looking at a few films that has been inspired in the education way of looking. I started looking at the film fame and how this was inspired to bring out creativity and there are so many others that bring this as well which will also go into this blog and a few of my ideas in looking at ways that we learn I don't think education just starts and finishes at school as we use so many different way to learn new information even if its just reading the news paper to find out whats going on.

so what to do on the brief? well I am going to look at some images and idea's of what education is as I do not want to go for the cliché look of school girl. I want to look into different ways we look at education not just school, college and university but looking at other aspects of education like what we do in everyday activity as we are always looking to find something new even if its just a bit of gossip. So I'm going to look at different ways that we learn information, looking at different styles of education.

final 5 images

Here are the final 5 images I think they have turned out really well. I think the way the fashion Stylist dressed he was really cleverly thought out we had to change a few items as the model didn't think that the blue top that went on didn't look right so we decided to take that top off and add on the models leather jacket instead which gave it more of a Gothic stylised look with the way her eyes had been done up really smoky eyes gives her a bad girl look which is what we where trying to go for in this shoot the lighting had taken a while to get set up as  we wanted to be able to see the texture of the wolf fur fabric.
